Dr. Vasa is a Board Certified General and Addiction Psychiatrist in Newport Beach.
Dr. Vasa began her medical education as a cum laude graduate of
Northwestern University and a graduate of the University of Illinois
at Chicago College of Medicine. She completed her General Adult
Psychiatry residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles,
California. She was then selected as the Chief Resident of Academic
and Administrative Psychiatry, also at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Vasa subsequently pursued additional training in an Addiction
Psychiatry fellowship at Cedars-Sinai, under the mentorship of Dr.
Jeffery Wilkins. Dr. Vasa is board certified by the American Board
of Psychiatry and Neurology, and also certified by the American
Board of Addiction Medicine. She has received numerous awards
and accolades throughout her education and training for leadership,
education, and service.
In addition to her own private practice, Dr. Vasa supervises
Marriage and Family Therapy interns, or Psychological Assistants,
who are in the process of obtaining hours for licensure. She also
serves as a consultant to several local residential drug and alcohol
treatment centers, and enjoys lecturing at treatment centers and
hospitals on a variety of topics.
On a personal level, Dr. Vasa is a marathon runner, student of yoga,
and mother of two young children. She enjoys writing creative
non-fiction and reading books on Eastern philosophy. She
understands firsthand the very real challenges of achieving balance
and wellness, and does her best to put into practice the tools and
techniques she recommends to her patients.
